Li Menghan Headlines Asia‑Pacific Contenders at Nairn
Nairn (Scotland), 9 June 2025 – China’s Li Menghan, Australia’s Jazy Roberts, and India’s Mannat Brar headline a strong contingent from the Asia‑Pacific region at this week’s 122nd Women’s Amateur Championship, being held 10–15 June at Nairn Golf Club. Six players from the Asia‑Pacific make up part of the 144‑player field in one of the world’s premier amateur women’s golf events
Stroke Play Sparks Match‑Play Aspirations
The championship begins with two rounds of stroke play on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the top 64 advancing to match play from Thursday to Sunday. All three—Li, Roberts, and Brar—earned their spots by making the cut at the Women’s Amateur Asia‑Pacific in Vietnam.
Li Menghan: A Rising Star from China
Currently ranked 110th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), Li has enjoyed a breakthrough season. She finished 17th in the WAAP, has three top‑10 finishes on the China LPG Tour, was co‑runner‑up at The Royal Junior in Japan, and placed sixth in the APGC Junior Girls’ Championship in Hong Kong just two weeks ago
Consistent Performers Roberts and Brar
Australia’s Roberts (127th WAGR) displayed consistency this year, notably recording a tie for fourth at WAAP. India’s Brar, reigning All‑India Ladies Amateur champion and ranked 431st, drew on deep competitive experience, including a top‑3 finish in the R&A Girls’ Amateur
Other Asia‑Pacific Contenders
Joining the trio are Korea’s Judy Joo (249th WAGR), who secured two wins on the R&A Student Tour; Australia’s Celine Chan (382nd) and Momo Sugiyama (153rd), both currently studying and competing in the US
